		<description>I agree with your idea for a pre- or post-Christmas visit! 
It might be nice to arrive for the Epiphany celebrations (January 6), and then stay for a couple weeks after. In Venice, at least, there was a marked reduction in the number of tourists after Jan. 6th.</description>
