European Experiences!

Introducing European Experiences, small group tours in Europe.
My good friend Kathy Wood and her husband Charley have expanded their European small group tours to include the Alps in Austria and Germany.
For the last several years they have been leading groups to the Luberon in southern France. They offer a one week tour, based in the village of Bonnieux. They know this area well, having lived there for six months in 2004 and then returning as often as possible since then. Steve and I first met Kathy and Charley (and their daughter Kelly) in the Luberon when they were living there.
For 2009 they are doing their usual spring and fall trips to the Luberon and have added two tours in June in the Alps. Kathy and I share a love of walking/hiking in the European Alps. We always go to Switzerland, but Kathy has hiked the Alps in Switzerland, Austria and Germany.
Kathy is a dedicated European traveler and Slow Traveler. She spent over a year traveling through Europe with her family, spending weeks or months in different places. Kathy is a moderator on the SlowTrav forums.
Kathy wrote a travel guide for Slow Europe – Alpine Adventures in the Mountains of Germany and Austria – and a photo slideshow.

My husband and I traveled with Kathy and Charley this past September and our experience in the Luberon could not have been any better! We saw things and did things that we never would have done on our own. The friendships they have established with people in Provence made our weeklong stay in Bonnieux so special. We hope the economy cooperates and that we can travel with them again! We are thinking about Alsace and the Cotswolds — it’s on their list of possible trips in 2010. If you have an opportunity to travel with the Woods, do it!
