Vacation Rental Name: The Cottage
We rented a cottage from Manor Cottages May 15-22, 2009. All correspondence was professional, reservations and payment went smoothly. The cottage was called The Cottage (THECOT) on their website and was located in Moreton-in-Marsh. It was extremely well located, a short distance from train station, one block off the High Street.
The cottage was originally a 16th century toll keeper's cottage and retains many of the original features including the hearth and an 11th century window installed at a later date. This is not a modern cottage but one that has been lovingly restored by the owners retaining all the charm but with modern conveniences. Therefore the ceilings and doorways are a little lower and the floor is a little uneven but that doesn't detract from its charm.
The ground floor has a siiting/living room, dining room, kitchen, half bath and conservatory (that half bath is very convenient). The second floor contains two bedrooms, a double and a twin with shared bathroom. The third floor is a double with ensuite bathroom.
The cottage was clean and all the bedrooms had beautiful linens. An assortment of books, games and DVDs were available as well as a telephone and the basic TV stations. The kitchen was fully equipped and included a washing machine. Having a conservatory is a real bonus and we loved it so much that we have decided that it is a must anywhere we rent in England.
This is a lovely restored cottage with all the amenities and I would not hesitate to recommend it or rent it again. I gave it a 5 star rating because it is a well restored 16th century cottage not because it is as luxurious as 5 star hotel.

Vacation Rental Name: Eiffel Hideaway
We stayed in this apartment in Paris for 5 nights, May 10-15. Correspondence with the leasing company was excellent and we had no problems finding the apartment or accessing the unit.
The Eiffel Hideaway is in an awesome location, in the center of the 7th arrondissement, 2 short blocks from Rue Cler. It is located on a narrow "passage" and is very quiet.
The apartment is on the 1st floor (US second) and is accessed by about 15 steps. It is your classic, older Parisian apartment, small with high ceilings and long windows. The 1 bedroom apartment is 400 square ft with a very small kitchen (but you're by the food shops on Rue Cler so who cares), although it can seat three at the small kitchen table. It has a small living area with a couple of chairs, a day bed and adjoining full bath. The small bedroom has an ensuite toilet and sink in a closet area.
We loved the location of this apartment and the two bathrooms. It made it easier for two women to share the space by utilizing the day bed in the living room. It is a classic small Parisian apartment best suited for two, at most 3 people (maybe).
The apartment is somewhat dated, in an older 19th century building. It was clean with simple, standard furnishings (nothing fancy) but its location, 2 bathrooms and the price more than make up for any decorative shortcomings it may have. I would rent this apartment again just for those reasons.
I would give the apartment 3 stars but the location 5 stars so overall give it a four.
