Switzerland - Saanen

Gstaad, Saanen and the nearby towns make "Saanenland", a wonderful area on the western edge of the Bernese Oberland. We spent two weeks in Saanen several years ago and then returned to this area in July - August 2007, this time staying in Gstaad. Gstaad is lively and fun, but is more crowded with tourists. Saanen is a quiet village with good tea rooms and good shops and is the easier place to stay. Plus you are only 5 minutes by car from Gstaad. Summer 2007
