Date of Stay: summer 2009

Vacation Rental Name: Il Bianco

I stayed at Il Bianco, located just north of Florence in a place called Pratolino. From the terrace of the apartment, one could see Florence on a clear day (the famous Duomo). It was about a 30-45 minute bus ride to the city depending on traffic.

The whole area was beautiful, set to vineyards - the estate made its own wines. The apartment itself was top notch - very elegant and offered a good stay at a good rate. It can be rented via http://www.qualityvillasitaly.co.uk

Date of Stay: fall 2008

Vacation Rental Name: Villa Saeculum

I stayed at Villa Saeculum in autumn 2008, on a visit to the region of Tuscany, just below Florence, also known as Chianti Classico.

I had a very pleasant stay ... the property enjoys glorious views of the surrounding vineyards and one can enjoy a wine tasting in the estate cellars. The private pool is surrounded by gardens designed by the renowned gardener Donald Leevers and is full of heady scents and colours.

Down the road is the pretty village of Greve for shops and meals out, whilst to the north is the stunning city of Florence, that needs little introduction, suffice to say if you haven't visited this place, then please do so soon!

The property itself is a restored 17th century farmhouse and has various original fittings, exuding charm. There is a very nice covered loggia seating area.
