Vacation Rental Name: The Wisteras
My family of 4 stayed in the Wisterias for a week in early June of this year (2009). It could not have been a more wonderful experience. La Petite Gardette has got to be one of the most beautiful spots in Provence. The stone cottages are beyond imagination and are straight out of a movie or a Peter Mayle book. The grounds consist of fruit trees of every variety, rows of grapevines, and magnificent Italian Cypress. It is right on the oldest golf course in Provence which includes a hole with a ruin and is truly amazing. (Neither of us play golf but what we saw of the course almost made us want to take it up.) Immediately beyond the golf course are the Luberon Mountains which is national preserve. We enjoyed an afternoon of hiking there. Our kids loved the main pool and so did we. The hamlet’s location is excellent as it is very close to historic towns, cities, and wonderful cafés and markets.
