Vacation Rental Name: MY Home in Dijon # 244693

My home in Dijon is a very special place owned by a very special person, Coco Jacquin. My husband and I spent 10 days there in September of 2008 and are returning for another 10 days this May (2010). We can't wait to get back.

The apartment is a bright, comfortably furnished large studio with a separate kitchen and comes equipped with anything one would ever want including a computer. One falls out of bed and into the Ducal palace. The covered market is a five minute walk away.

The kitchen is spacious and is stocked with lovely dishes, glassware and an assortment of pots and pans. It is a kitchen for anyone who likes to cook. The refrigerator and the pantry are stocked with more than enough food and condiments to get one started. There are windows in both the main part of the apartment and the kitchen which make for an airy, open feeling.

Coco picks up and deposits her guests at the train station. She is whirlwind of Gallic charm and natural born "innkeeper". My home in Dijon reflects her talents.

We stayed a week in this beautiful apartment in the old town of Menton. It overlooks the beach, harbor and Garavan area of Menton. Right out the door was main street of the old town of Menton - Rue Longue.

The owner has restored the apartment and has fully equipped it with all amenities. The building is from the 17th century but has been modernized. The original frescoes are still on the ceiling. The apartment is on the second floor and accessed via stairs.

There are two bedrooms. The main bedroom has a double bed and is decorated in lovely red toile fabric. The second bedroom has a smaller trundle bed. In the bathroom, there is a full shower and a separate WC.

The living room had ample comfortable chairs and sofa. It was a very large room and a full dining table was also in the room but it did not feel crowded. The windows have a gorgeous view toward Italy.

The kitchen is a full "American" style kitchen with a large refrigerator, dishwasher, stove top, microwave and washer and dryer. There was also a drip coffee maker and a stove top espresso maker. There is a good supply of dishes, glassware and cookware.

We loved exploring the old town of Menton that was just outside the door.

Date of Stay: summer 2007

Vacation Rental Name: VRBO #112368

We rented this apartment in Paris in late summer 2007. The apartment is very nice and stayed very cool inside, without air conditioning. The bedrooms were very quiet at night.

The kitchen is probably the nicest room - well outfitted and comfortable to cook in. The dining room is also very nice. The master bedroom is great, but the other two bedrooms were just OK. There was no armoire or drawers in one of the bedrooms which happened to be mine, so I had to keep all my stuff spilling out of my suitcase and in an armoire in the hallway. The beds were comfortable though and we all slept well.

We could never get the TV to work properly and the doorknob on the bathroom kept falling off - but those are minor quibbles. The balconies, the location, the space and the light of the place were wonderful and we had a great time staying there. It definitely felt like "home in Paris." It might be better for a family though - if you had three prima donnas in this place, it would never work out with the bedroom situation.
