Vacation Rental Name: Almachar home

We have travelled throughout Europe this past year and this is one place we will truly miss. All four of us felt at home right from our arrival. John and Judy are easy going hosts who left extensive information about the surroundings and made themselves available at our convenience. The village is absolutely fabulous. The people speak no English but are friendly and helpful and truly delighted to have guests in the village. The white-washed walls, the red tile rooftops, the narrow winding streets, the stray animals, the glorious sunshine and heat all combined to give us exactly what we came for: the Andalucian experience. And then there is the house! It has every convenience imaginable including English TV and internet! What a treat! The rooms are well stocked and comfortable but it is the view off the roof terrace that I will miss the most. I could live here the rest of my life and never tire of the spectacular view. We did get out to sightsee all over Andalucia during our visit and some drives were longer than others but truly, the village charmed us into lounging right here for much of our stay.

Vacation Rental Name: Vivasiesta - Cutar

My wife and I are returning for our fourth visit in the past three years to Cutar & Vivasiesta, warmly hosted by John and Judy (J&J).

Because of its location and diversity in recreational activities, each of our vacations has been an entirely different experience. This is the reason that we continue to return to our favourite little hideaway.

Whether it is lazing with a book and a cerveza on a sunny afternoon in the olive groves, hiking in the foothills that overlook the Mediterranean and the many "white villages" of the area, a scenic flight at the local airport, or a visit to any one of the historic cities and towns (Cordoba, Granada, Sevilla, Malaga, Ronda); whatever your taste, there is something for you in Cutar with J&J.

As for the accommodations and the local amenities, the casitas are well appointed and always spotless. The view from the terrace alone is worth the trip. They are fully equipped and spacious if you wish to dine in. J&J are always happy to lend a helping hand and/or some guidance in the event that you require something not at hand. Shopping is close by for anything you may need. The local villagers are warm, friendly and inviting.

I think perhaps that the thing I find most satisfying in our vacations is the love and pride that John and Judy have for Cutar and their willingness to share their extensive knowledge of the area. They infuse their passion directly into our vacation experience. They are truly lovely and exceptional hosts and you will be lucky to know them.

Vacation Rental Name: Vivasiesta - one bedroom cottage rental

My fiance and I spent six weeks at John & Judy's cottage in Cutar and had the experience of a lifetime. Cutar is a beautiful and non-touristy, but exceedingly welcoming town. We were isolated enough to spend whole days reading and painting without distraction, and yet the town bar and square were always full of friendly locals who during our time in Cutar introduced us to new foods, music, and the surrounding countryside.

The cottage itself is clean and spacious. We loved the terrace, which has a view of vine-covered hills and plenty of room for two people. We cooked most of our own meals in the cottage and found nearly everything we needed close at hand (and John and Judy were always ready to help if we lacked anything).

We also loved that Cutar was walking distance to other small Andalucian towns and an easy bus ride to the larger cities of Velez-Malaga and Malaga, where one can catch a bus to any part of Spain. We traveled up to Madrid one weekend and spent another in Granada. The beach is only 45 minutes away by a bus that travels twice daily in both directions through Cutar.

Overall, the natural beauty, the kindness of John, Judy and the townspeople, and the comfort of the cottage made this a wonderfully relaxing and enjoyable getaway.
