Use tourist offices when planning your trip. Tourist office websites are a great resource for trip planning. They will mail local information to you. They may also have lists of accommodations, tour guides and other local information to help you plan.

Tourist offices in England and Switzerland are exceptional and give you information you won't easily find anywhere else. The tourist office is a great place to find locally published travel guidebooks or walking guides. Tourist offices in Italy are not such a great help, so do not depend on them for local informaiton.
