England Vacation Rentals - Lake District
The Lake District, a National Park in the north-west of England, is a small area (885 square miles) full of lakes, hills and valleys - great for exploring, walking and hiking. It is one of the wettest parts of England, making it green and beautiful. It has long been a popular area with tourists. The poet Wordsworth wrote a guide to this area in 1810 and the children's book author Beatrix Potter lived here in the early 1900s at Hill Top Farm near Hawkshead.
