This is part of central Germany has rivers, mountains, historic towns and wine growing regions. The Rhine River runs from Switzerland, through western German, to the North Sea. In the German section, particularly between Mainz and Bonn, it is lined with castles and historic villages (it is a UNESCO world heritage site).
