Italy Vacation Rentals - Campania and the Amalfi Coast
Campania, the region south of Lazio and Rome, has many ancient Roman ruins, fashionable seaside towns, great beaches, interesting hill towns and great food. Naples is an exciting port city, where pizza was invented - and the pizza is great! Sorrento is a great base for the area if you do not want to drive. You can take a ferry to Capri, train to the ancient ruins of Pompeii, bus to the towns of the Amalfi Coast (Positano, Praiano, Ravello, Amalfi) or hike up into the hills behind the town. The Amalfi coast with its famous winding coastal road is another great place to stay. Further south along the coast and off the beaten tourist track is the Cilento Coast, with great beaches and the ancient ruins at Paestum. Region - Campania
