Florence (Firenze), on the Arno River in northern Tuscany, is the place to go to see Renaissance art and architecture (the Duomo, Michelangelo's "David", Botticelli's "The Birth of Venus"), to shop, to eat. Unfortunately it can get crowded with tourists. The best way to experience the city is to stay in a vacation rental in the city center, but away from the main tourist areas. Region - in Tuscany
