Liguria, the Italian Riviera, stretches along the Mediterranean coast from France to Tuscany. The city of Genova sits between the Riviera di Ponente to the west and the Riviera di Levante to the south and east. The Cinque Terre, five once remote villages on the coast south of Levanto, are a popular destination.
