A Week in Provence

We are driving down to Provence for a week with our three kids. I will appreciate your advice on where to go, what to do, and what to eat to enjoy the local culture and craft. Also what to drink... travelling with three kids makes you mighty thirsty!:woot:

Thank you!

Some more information would be helpful. How old are your kids? Are you looking for kid-centric stuff, tours, hiking, etc? Provence covers a lot of territory - where will you be staying?

When are you going? And more importantly, where? Provence has many regional specialties to sip and savor, but it would help to know where you'll be staying.

Yes we need more info from you before we can help you effectively.
When are you going?
Which area in Provence are you going? To simplify: the Luberon mountains cuts PRovence into two parts, from west (Avignon) to east (Apt and beyond). Northern and Southern Provence have very different landscapes. More importantly, there are not mny roads that go between. Therefore if you are based in one end, and are only staying an hour, the effective way to travel is to visit what is near you.
As a rule, traveling with kids, you will enjoy the "fermes-auberges" - "farm inns" that are really a farm but run a restaurant side-business for only a few days a week. Not gastronomic temples, but fresh farm food in an informal nice setting. Not the kind of place for kids (or adults) who are picky eaters as these farms serve only what they grow. But a unique charming esxperience for all normal eaters.
Ball's in your court.
