Airport transfers

Here is another topic for Lisbon. Does anyone have any thoughts on getting from the Lisbon airport to our first hotel and from our second hotel to the airport to leave. Private car service, shared rides, taxis, etc., are all available and I want to know if anyone has a favorite and, if you know, what the cost might be. We DO NOT want to take a bus!

We used taxis. I just went to the curb on arrival. On our return, the apartment owner arranged a ride for us with a taxi driver he knew. The second cab also ran the meter, but the cost was about 10 euros less. Hmmm. We may have been taken for a "ride" on the first cab ride. But, neither was terribly expensive.

Taxi rank outside the airport: quick and cheap. The airport is so close to the city it's not worth doing anything else. IIRC, we went round to the departures side of the airport where there was a taxi rank and no queue.

From 2007, I don't know if it still applies, but at the arrivals level I got a cab with no meter and the final charge looked like an overcharge. I later saw advice to get a cab on the departures level.

It's only about 10 kms to the city centre from the airport. We used a taxi from and to the airport and it cost about 15 Euros. That was 2 years ago.

The taxi we got from Departures certainly had a meter. I remember our host specifically advised us to get one from there.
