Bari to Roccella Jonica by train

Ciao,
I am trip planning for summer 2020
We are a family of 6
We travel by train in Italy because car rental for us is very expensive
I have worked out a good train schedule to get to Bari
After that though we want to go to Roccella Ionica in Calabria. It appears the train doesn't go the logical way (welcome to southern Italy) and I can't for the life of me work out the best route. When coming from Rome to Roccella, we got off at Rosarno, and got a private transfer from there.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Rachel

Apparently there's a bus from Bari to Rosarno that takes a lot less than the train... Train lines in Italy are usually very good North to South but don't try to cross the peninsula! ;)
