Transportation Bilbao

Hi. We are travellling to Bilbao in the coming weeks with Brittany Ferries. The plan is to get from the Port to the Train Station as fast as possible to connect with a 9am departure to Madrid.

Google maps says it will take 75mins to do so by bus/metro. It would seem a taxi would be the better option. Even so, allowing for 30mins to disembark the ship, plus 16mins drive to the station, it seems a bit tight. Can anyone advise if we're likely to make it on time ?

Other measures we intend taking are to ask crew if they can assist on getting us off the ship sooner than others. Further to that, if the taxis prove to be scarce, hitching a lift with some friendly campervanners might be a cheeky ask.

It would seem tight, and from what I can tell, for transportation from Bilbao people often prefer the bus, with hourly departures to Madrid, over the train for long-distance travel: https://www.alsa.com/en/web/bus/home

Apologies, we are in fact taking the bus. And will be going to the Bus Station, not the Train Station as stated.
