Netherlands Blogging from Amsterdam and Venice

I always enjoyed your blogs on SlowTrav, BJ; thanks for letting us know about your present visit!
(Try a Hugo spritz next time you're in a bar in Venice. )

I'm enjoying your blog. This time next year we will have 4 weeks in Venice and I can't wait!
I watch a webcam and it looked quite foggy on a few days. It would be very atmospheric I think.

Great blogposts, as ever! When I was in Venice in May 2016 (the one with the Frari concert for our group), a couple of us went to that Angelo Raffaele branch of Pane, Vino... : a lovely place, with a menu that's an interesting mix of the chain's Friulian roots and the owners' Sardinian background - glad to see you enjoyed it, too.

So I've enjoyed visiting some familiar sights in Venice through your eyes - but also reading about Amsterdam, where we're going next week for 5 nights (an apartment just west of the Jordaan district). Philippa and I don't really know Amsterdam at all (we had a day trip there back in 1981, but that was mostly to see a Dutch musicologist who specialized in Balinese Gamelan!), so your reports and photos have given us lots of ideas. And a reminder to pack our rain gear :dork:
