Commissario Brunetti

We just returned from two weeks in Italy. I will write more later, but just had to tell all Brunetti fans about our experience. We were having lunch at a little place on the Grand Canal, and noticed a film crew. Didn't give it much thought, but when we returned to our Palazzo apartment, a water taxi was sitting at the water door, and low and behold, there was Commissario Brunetti. Be still my heart! We wondered why they would be filming at our particular Palazzo, as it is pretty run down from the front, but we were then told that he and his wife always rent an apartment on the second floor. Perhaps, because it is very near where they film his apartment shown in the show. I always look up at that terrace while riding on the vaporetto. I'm so happy that they are still filming the show. Maybe, more DVD's will soon be coming.

Sharon, I guess you mean the German-made series for TV? Yes, I'd be happy too if more DVDs are available soon, especially if our library gets them, since that's the way I've been able to see them.

Yes, that is the one. The Palazzo owner said the actor is very quiet, and goes quite unnoticed in Venice, because of the show being German. She wanted to introduce us to him, but we declined. I'm sure he wouldn't appreciate being bothered.
