"Cooking in a home"

I may have done something very bad by attending a cooking class with my wife this summer -- we are now registered for a "cook in a home" session for our upcoming October trip. Looking for guidance from someone who may have done this type of an outing, as in "Do you bring a small gift, provide some type of gratuity, or just show appreciation" to the host? This is being scheduled through a Viator offering and new ground for us.

I haven't done any workshops or sessions like this - but I can say with certainty that a small token of appreciation, in addition to the payment, is always a nice gesture towards people who have devoted time and effort to you. We always bring a small gift to our accommodation hosts in Italy, whoever they may be, and sometimes also like to share something with any artisan or producer we have encountered who has devoted time to us. These have always been accepted with grace and appreciation.
