EES repeat entries

Last month, I managed to successfully register with EES at Fiumicino, and got the sticker on my passport, but my wife [and two of our friends] simply could not pass the EES fingerprint check.
We'll be going through Fiumicino again in a few months, and obviously my wife has to retry at the EES kiosks, but what about me?
I'll stick with her whatever, but what's the process once you successfully register with EES?
Can you bypass the EES kiosks?
Where do you then go?

The lines at passport control leaving Fiumicino on Wednesday, May 27, were very, very long. Diana's inability to walk long distances and use of a wheelchair in airports gives us the advantage of bypassing the lines so I can't tell you how much time it took but it looked formidable.

On our arrival at Newark, the regular passport control lines were long and there was even a short line for the one Global Entry machine being used.
