Yes, but not everyone here has been to Burgundy! It is a pretty combination of colors - red, black, gold. I've been thinking about knitting a blanket and those colors would be good!

In Périgord Noir, the Chateau de Castelnaud in Castelnaud-la-Chapelle?

We spent four weeks in Sarlat-la-Canéda in 2006.

That is the village featured in the book "A Castle in the Backyard: The Dream of a House in France, 2006, by Betsy Draine and Michael Hinden. I think you can see what was their house in the photo, just below the castle. They arrived before the castle became such a big tourist attraction and visited every summer.

Is it on Lake Como? Maybe not because those buildings on the lake look German.

It's neither Canada or Lake Como. But it's on a lake. Here's a close-up.....

You are correct, caliroan. We stayed in an apartment across the lake from Grand Hotel Giessback in 2007. We took the boat across and had lunch there and a walk afterwards.

I was wondering about Netherlands.....

Hmmmm .... Liechtenstein is about a 50 minute drive south of this monument.
Here's the "hairy" side of the tower

Google recognises this side of the tower although it didn't recognise the first picture... It is the Mangturm Tower in Lindau. The long, blonde plait refers to the tale of Rapunzel and is part of the storytelling events that often take place here.
