Thanks to all who are sharing some wonderful experiences and ideas.
In the last couple of years 17/18 my wife and self have been to Italy from Canada via LGW Gatwick and then FCO Rome.
Both holidays focussed on walking and we used a British tour provider for initial self-guided route and luggage transfer logistics.
Amalfi coast in 2017 and Tuscany in 2018.
We’re still newbies at the independent and public transportation travel stuff but we are learning. Wish we’d started 30 yrars ago.
Appreciate the trip report details and eat/sip/sleep recommendations that are shared by the more seasoned travellers.
Still slowly reading through the FAQs and sloweurope etiquette posts — suspect i will be posting a “help wanted” post or two regarding upcoming trip that we are currently planning to Liguria & Piemonte this spring.
Thanks again to all who are sharing their knowledge and experience.
