Lajatico

Sorry if this has been addressed before, we are thinking of taking a day trip to Lajatico from Montepulciano this coming May. We always try and visit a new area and/or town during our stays. I know Lajatico is the homeland of Bocelli, and the area looks stunning. Has anyone here ventured into that area? If so, we would love a recommendation for lunch. We love simple local fare, no Haute Cuisine. Also, any not to be missed sights?

We were supposed to go this past July, as I got tickets to the Teatro del Silenzio, but sadly we weren't able to go. But Bocelli and family has restored his grandfather's officina (tractor garage) into a restaurant and museum, so that would be the place to eat if you're going for the Bocelli appeal. http://www.officinebocelli.it/

His brother also has a winery. http://www.albertobocelli.com/bocellivini.html
