Leaving rental car in Italy

I am going to have a one way car rental that starts in either Germany or Switzerland. I know that cars "rented in Italy" can't use their credit card for CDW, but what about my situation? Anyone with experience doing this?

Some may think I'm nuts, but I always purchase Super CDW (zero deductible) from the car company rather than trusting my CC company to cover it. It's worth it to me to be able to turn the car in and walk away.

I generally do the same, but mt CR. CD. companies insurance is supposed to be more inclusive. On a 3+ week rental the $0 deductible fees are high.
