Fantastic location, just off Piazza Dante in the heart of the city.

The owner, Gina, is warm and friendly, meeting us in Piazza Dante to escort us to the apartment. We really appreciated this personal contact. She was also readily available throughout our 5 night stay in case we needed anything.

The apartment was within walking distance of everything we wanted to see - historic centre, National Museum, Vomero district, waterfront promenade and the ferry to Capri. There's also easy access to public transportation: just around the corner is Piazza Dante metro stop and bus stops. Lots of restaurants nearby. Our favourite meal was at Pizzeria di Matteo, a 10-15 walk from the apartment on Via dei Tribunali...we stumbled it upon it one afternoon and had The. Best. Pizza. Ever. Indescribably delicious.

It's a lovely apartment, spacious and bright. AC and wifi worked very well. We didn't cook any meals, but the kitchen was large and seemed very well equipped. The bed was comfortable, with good lighting for reading. There is a comfy sofa in the living area for relaxing during the day, and another sofa in the bedroom. Wonderful panoramic view from the rooftop terrace...Vesuvius on one side, Vomero hill on the other.

A note on the neighbourhood - the building is on a very narrow street ("vico"), running parallel to via Toledo. Scooters buzz through, and a few cars. Before our trip, we had so many warning about Naples. We didn't feel unsafe at any moment. We kept alert with our belongings as we do in any other large city, but that's was all. There was some construction going on at one little corner that we passed each day and said hello the men working there. One day a car came out of nowhere, going fast, and cut us off as we were stepping onto the crosswalk...the men were indignant on our behalf, shaking their fists and yelling at the driving while apologising to us, saying "no respect, no respect."

I can't wait to return someday for another (hopefully longer) stay in this fantastic apartment!!

Thanks for that. Can you tell me if there is an elevator in the building?

Yes, but it doesn't go all the way up. The elevator takes you up to the 4th floor, and then there's a set of stairs to the top (5th) floor where the apartment is located.
