Nero Domus Aurea Tickets

Wife and I will be in Rome in early October.
Tickets for Nero Domus Aurea can be found at https://colosseo.it/biglietti/domus-aurea.
First problem was that the ticketing website did not like my Optimum IP address, claiming something dangerous about it, no VPN, no funny business.
So I had to use my cell phone Verizon service to provide Internet access.
Second problem was that tickets can only be purchased one month in advance.
Third problem was that today, first day tickets are available for the day in October that we need, everything appears sold out.
Fourth problem is that none of the commercial tour operators, e.g., Viator, have anything available for early October.
Is this real?

What is the date you need? Because it looks like the calendar for available tickets is only showing the first two days of October are available. The Domus is only open Friday thru Sunday.

I see tickets available - but not for EN language tours. Only in Italian. Still, worth a try. The guide may speak English and can answer your questions as you go.

There are 3 tickets at 12:30 but for more options, you might have to go through a consolidator/tour company. I don't like doing that but I've had to at times for the Colosseo when friends are visiting.

If you go back onto the official
Colosseum website ( https://colosseo.it/ )
you should explore the all the tour options especially the underground tour which is a far superior experience. Audio guides are also an idea..
Now while these are also very popular and likely busy / sold out, there is usually space for tours in other languages ( Italian / Spanish etc )
Maybe not the ideal situation at least you will get access.

Alternatively if you find nothing, tour operator usually have options for colosseum tours

The last options I can think of is there are usually tickets tours outside at a final resort

The language-tour workaround is probably the least bad fallback, even if following along gets a bit patchy. Third-party inventory for the Colosseum can vanish fast too, so it doesn't always solve much.
