One-day Venice Islands tour

We will have a full day to visit the islands of Murano, Burano and Torcello. We can schedule this for a day without cruise ships in port, so crowds should not be a problem. Any suggestions?

Any suggested tours? I've seen several 1/2 day tours posted, but not much for all day.

Perhaps not the itinerary you've mentioned, but SeeVenice with Luisella Romeo is highly recommended. She has many tours available, that will be very "insider" for you. She is friends with many here on SE. With mutual friends, we met her for drinks in Venice last year. Delightful!

I have visited Burano and Murano many times but have never taken an organied tour.
Beware of the "free" tours offered on site. Some tour guides take you to Murano and leave you there for hours, pressuring you to buy from the specific shops that they take you to.
Burano is worth a visit. Its pared-down beauty provides a nice contrast of landscape with gaudy Venice. There are good eateries on the island too. There are regular ferries connecting it with Venice. A self-guided half-day visit is actually quite doable.

Andrea D'Alpaos is a fantastic guide. I have gone to Murano, where he was born, with him twice. If you are looking for a private tour he is the best!
