Overnight Train or Plane

Hi everyone
We are looking at options from
Budapest to Zurich
Flights is the easy option, but wondering if anyone has done the overnighter on the Train & is it worth it ?
Believe it leaves around 8pm & a 12 hr journey
Thanks

We were on the Nightjet Vienna to Venice last month. It is operated by OBB, the Austrian national railway. It was the third time we've made the trip and each time it has declined. This last time the engine broke down at 1:00 am and we had to wait three hours for a replacement. There was a lot of bumping around and noise so we didn't get much sleep. The Budapest to Zurich route is a Euronight train so different operator. However, some of the cars are Vienna bound, so OBB might be involved. The Man in seat 61 has info and a video on the Euronight to Zurich that you'll find here: Euronight
