Passport Card vs Passport Book

What is the main difference between Passport Card vs Passport Book?

Basically a passport card is good for surface crossings between the United States and neighboring countries, at a lower price than passport books, which are needed for international air travel.

Also, it is considered "official" ID. I was trying to visit Anapolis a couple of years ago and my Washington state driver's license was NOT on the approved ID list, had I had the passport card with me I could've entered with that. (I believe that all 50 states will have "Real ID" by the end of 2021).
