Early mornings on the Camino meant waking up with the Roosters. Honestly, I giggled everytime I heard the roosters crow while I made my way out of town in the dark, cold and sometimes misty and windy mornings. As challenging as it often was in these conditions, it was my most favorite part of the day. I think this was somewhere on the Camino Frances after Leon.

This is a scan from a slide I took in 1965 (we were sniffy about colour prints in those days), with my first very basic Agfa camera.

I'd arrived in Paris on the overnight train from Bordeaux, and was walking across the Pont d'Austerlitz to wherever I was to stay, just as the sun was rising - and I think my eye was caught by that little pinprick of light as well. This view is now all fancy glass office boxes.
