This week’s Photo Hunt No. No. 34 (Week of August 26, 2018) – Handwriting/Handwritten

A Photo Hunt 2018 category is available on the Media Gallery.

The easiest & fastest way to get from point A to point B is with a straight line, but I think as slow travelers we like to take in the interesting sights and travel slowly to enjoy them. This week’s theme features a wide selection of curved subjects we found interesting and unique on our travels. Wonderful photos everyone.

Upcoming Photo Hunt Themes:
Photo Hunt No. 35 (Week of September 2, 2018) – Waterfall(s)
Photo Hunt No. 36 (Week of September 9, 2018) – Cool View (A view that is special in some way for you)

One of my favorite meals on my GrapeHops tour was in the town of Rovinj, Croatia (2017). It was a wonderful family run Italian restaurant who served us wine and three different varieties of pasta (all very delicious). I couldn’t help taking a photo of this cute handwritten sign that was near their entrance.

Note: I'll be traveling (Sept 13 through Oct 1) and while I'm away, Joe has agreed to post the Photo Hunt themes in my absence. He will post them starting with the week of Sept. 16. Joe asked that I attach my list of theme ideas and past themes already used so we can avoid duplication. If anyone has some new ideas for future themes, please feel free to post your ideas. Thank you Joe and thank you everyone for your enthusiasm and for sharing your wonderful photos.

This is the Clopton Chapel in Holy Trinity Church in Long Melford. Yhis was originally a small chantry chapel where priests said masses for the dead of the local (and important) Clopton Family. Round the top of the walls are verses by John Lydgate (1370-1451), the poet monk of Bury St Edmunds. They are thought to have been painted during the later half of the C15th.

Thanks for the link @joe - I'd not seen it and it is a fascinating insight. I love the idea of it starting as a response to boredom...

Writing from ancient Egyptian Tomb. I have no idea about hieroglyphics what is the meaning of the symbols.

My guess is... At stoplight if a man or a groundhog crosses kick them and your prayers will be answered.

Colo, what if hieroglyphics are read from left to right? Then the meaning is :
"Praying for a solution to the bursitis in my knee, I went to two specialists. One said to quit the hockey, the second said to quit the cigarettes. In the end I saw the light"
;)

I think you solved the message! :dancingcow:
