Piemonte Artisans

I'm going to take a group to the Piemonte region in the fall and I like to fit in one or two visits to some type of local artisan on each trip. I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas? They'd need to be comfortable hosting a group of about 40 people for a short visit.

In the past we've been to vineyards, of course, several times. In Sicily we visited an olive oil producer and in Ireland we went to a sheep ranch for a herding and shearing demonstration. These are the events that people talk about years later so I try to find one or two for each trip.

I prefer to support local artisans whenever possible and avoid at all costs factories built for tourists. I don't get anything from this other than trying to make a great memory for my group. (BTW, these are fund raising trips for local non-for-profits. This particular group is based from a local parish church, although about two thirds of the travelers each year are not members of the church.)

I would love to find a potter, or a musical instrument maker, or a cheese maker, etc. I'm pretty open regarding the type of artistry.

Does anyone have any ideas? I thought I might reach out to Diana Bauer but learned that she has sold her place and moved to Germany.

For cheese makers, you might contact the Slow Food office in the town of Bra, which could probably suggest places to visit.
