1) "The True Size of" - an interactive map where you can see the relative size of a country or state with respect to other places on the globe. This is not as trivial as it sounds : standard global maps have an inherent distortion in them, while this app gives a more exact rendition. Note that you can swivel the projected country :

2) "Earth" - a beautiful animation of wind currents around the world, but not only. Zoom in to anywhere, and click on "earth" for the menu. Nice for a bigger perspective of that breeze you're feeling on your face... :
