That is a smart habit. Checking early saves stress and last minute fees. I do the same now, most countries want six months validity, so catching it early avoids ruined trips.I’ve started a new tradition. At the first of the year I check our passport expiration dates so I don’t have any surprises during the year, like I did last year when Steve’s British and Irish passports expired and we didn’t notice until just before a trip!

Dave and I renewed ours last spring and also went with the 10 option. I was surprised how much the design has changed. I haven't gotten used to the polycarbonate info page yet. I like the new cover design though.Liz & I are awaiting our new 10-year passports. We visited our local Service Canada office 10 days ago. Our applications were confirmed, submitted & paid for. I submitted mine a week ago and recd email acknowledgment that it is in process. Very easy online applicationI’ve started a new tradition.
