Tough choice

A friend is taking a cruise and would love to know whether to choose an excursion to Capri or the Amalfi coast. I unfortunately have been to neither, but I knew the experts here would be able to express an opinion. Thank you

I am in Positano now. It depends on what they are offering. For Capri maybe they take you there by boat and you get the whole day to wander. That would be nice. Maybe for the Amalfi Coast it is bus along the coast road. That wouldn't be as much fun. But if it was boat along the coast and the day in Positano, that would be nice.

All that said, I would pick Capri because you will see Positano from the boat. Positano is very vertical and to explore it they would have to climb a lot of stairs.
