Help Needed Trying to decide - Domus Aurea vs Domus Romane

We will be visiting Italy this October and will be in Rome for 4-5 days. My husband and I have been to Rome several times, but the couple we are traveling with have not. I have (or will) made reservations for the basic sights our friends want to see - the Scavi tour, the Colosseum Underground night tour, Palatin Hill and the Forum, and the Vatican Museums - all of which my husband and I have visited several times in the past.
I was thinking of buying tickets to either Domus Aurea or Domus Romane since neither my husband and I have visited these sights and it would be something new and different for us.
Has anyone visited either one of these places? Does anyone have a preference for one over the other?
Thank you in advance for any opinions you can offer.

We have experienced both and I really find it difficult to choose between the two, especially as now the Domus Aurea features a vitual reality aspect as part of the tour (it didn't when we visited)
The multi media presentation at Domus Romane is spectacular and we certainly hadn't seen anything like it before. On the other hand how can you not be amazed when gazing at the frescoes that inspired Renaissance artists in the Domus Aurea.
Thinking of your friends and their first time visit I think I would go for Domus Romane - but it is a hard call!

How far in advance do you need to reserve for Domus Aurea?
Hmm...not sure. I reserved our tickets late last month for our visit on 10/8. Tickets were about 16 euro each, if I remember correctly.
