Valencia

We will be in Valencia this Thursday to Sunday. We have info on the main tourist sites. Anything else we should know about? We like culture rather than nightlife. Any suggestions on inexpensive places to eat. Thank you

We found the bar in the Market offered substantial rations at fair prices. The market itself is an excellent place to pick up picnic fare for a walk in Turia park. Also in the evening we found the bars in the pedestrianized street a block over from the Cortes Ingles had reasonable tapas. There are many places to try Valencia's trademark snack: fartons and horchata. Their horchata is unlike the Mexican variety.
Close to the City of Arts and Sciences (Calatrava\s creation) there is a small museum that houses artifacts of previous Fallas festivals. Interesting, worth a look if you're in the neighbourhood.

Thank you. We did not find anywhere amazing to eat, but it was too hot to explore. We had a lunch time menu at a restaurant by the market, which was OK. I can't remember the name, but we are going back to spend another couple of weeks there in September. The food in the market seemed rather expensive. Any further suggestions appreciated.

We like Sidreria El Molinon for tapas and Asturian cider, which is dramatically poured from several feet above your glass to aerate it. Very reasonably priced. Calle Bolseria 40.

Other tapas restaurants we liked:
Pepita Pulgarcita, Calle Caballeros 19
Taberna Antonio Manuel, Calle San Vicente Martir 42
