Post on this thread with some information and photos of your favorite place in the United Kingdom and Ireland. I thought this might be a fun exercise to make us think about the places we love. It will also be a help to travelers trying to decide where to go next. Tell us why you love this place.

Chipping Campden is my favorite. Stayed there in April 2012. Same week as their Literary festival. Was great cause we went to an author talk about Dickens while we were there. We stayed in a mews cottage right off the main road and walked to shops. There was a fabulous French bakery there that made wonderful baguette sandwiches with "salade" on them. Had a picnic on the road. Also visited the silversmith while we were there and shop was so interesting. We are Rick Steve followers ;)

I'm going to write up some of my favorites for Belfast and Dublin, but I haven't been to England since 1991! (Except to change planes. I'll be flying through Heathrow again in April!)

My friend Lisa was living in the village of Saffron Walden in 1991, and I went to stay with her for a couple of weeks. One weekend we went to Stratford-upon-Avon, and I have good memories of visiting Anne Hathaway's cottage, Shakespeare's birthplace, walking in a garden with flowers from Shakespeare's time, and the Holy Trinity church where he's buried. Our B&B was comfortable and convenient and we met some interesting travelers at breakfast.
