In Étretat, a pretty seaside town north of Le Havre, the Impressionist artist Claude Monet painted a series of paintings of the sea, beach and cliffs during visits between 1883 and 1886. Two notices on the boardwalk show where you can see the same views that he painted. Étretat has an interesting historic center and a long sandy beach. Walking paths take you up to the cliff tops on each side of town.
