The Guardian - Wells cathedral’s 14th century stained glass window is restored to former glory, by Steven Morris, 10 November 2014
Final pieces of scaffolding are being removed from Jesse Window after three-year restoration project

From the article: "One of the most remarkable examples of 14th century stained glass in Europe can finally be seen again as its medieval creators intended following a meticulous three-year restoration project."

I must admit to listing Wells as my favorite cathedral in Europe since 1970. There have been many challengers and many that I love nearly as much. But this one speaks to me in so many different ways.

Not only is it exceptionally beautiful, but the acoustics speak volumes. We attended a choral concert this past Sept. It was a Karl Jenkins piece, The Armed Man - A Mass for Peace. To say it was incredible is an understatement.

We arrived early enough to walk around the lovely town. Flowers everywhere. Unfortunately the market was just shutting up for the day. But we did manage to pick up some picnic goodies and sat on the green - it was so peaceful. It seemed as if time had stopped to allow us to enjoy the moment in all it's manifestations.

You can't help but enjoy it Lisa. BTW there is a tour of the stained glass windows in the mornings if memory serves me right. You might want to check that out on the Wells Cathedral site.
