Venice Burano Dining

We plan to spend some time on Burano during our upcoming trip. Does anyone feel strongly about lunch at either Trattoria da Romano or alla Maddalena (on Mazzorbo) instead of Gatto Nero? We’ve eaten very well at the latter and have no problem returning there.

Well then, I’m thinking we’ll simply return to Gatto Nero. Probably Ai Promessi Sposi for dinner our first night, a little tradition for us. Our list then includes Vini da Gigio, Oficina Ormesini (a real find for us last year), Antiche Carampane, lots of cichetti, and wine bars like Vino Vero and all’Amarone.

We arrive on October 28; when are you coming?

We had a good lunch at alla Maddalena yesterday. Gatto Nero was closed for holiday for the week so I've yet to eat there and can't compare. We had a table outside and heard nothing other than Italian being spoken by all the guests within earshot. 2 groups arrived by boat, mooring along the canal in front before coming in to eat. I've eaten at da Romano only once and it was also good. I'd give the edge to alla Maddalena primarily because the outdoor seating was nicer than at da Romano - watching boat traffic go by vs. tourists walking.
