Camogli, Liguria - Apartment in villa (2 bedrooms/2 bathrooms), swimming pool

This is to complement the reviews submitted by other customers. The property description was accurate and the photos representative.
We stayed for 2 weeks in June 2017 and would not hesitate to book the apartment again or to recommend it to others.
* APARTMENT - it was nicely furnished and well-equipped, genuinely more like a home than a rented apartment. Although we stayed mid-summer, we didn't use the air conditioning as the apartment successfully self-ventilated with the adjustment of various windows. The swimming pool was a bonus and we swam in the pool every day. We thought that the general setting, in a partly-wooded valley, and the associated gardens, were attractive. The villa comprised several apartments, but we were the only full-time occupants throughout our vacation.
* APARTMENT LOCATION - it was situated with a 10 minute walk down to the Camogli centre, where there was a supermarket, bread shop, newsagent, tourist office and other shops (on Via XX Settembre). The surrounding locality for the apartment was generally quiet, and we didn't encounter any problem with train noise.
* OWNERS - Chiara, and her parents, Giovanni and Marialaura, were most helpful and a pleasure to deal with.
* CAMOGLI - it was suitably active with local residents but not overrun by tourists/visitors. The seafront is pedestrianised and a pleasant place to stroll along.
* RESTAURANTS IN CAMOGLI - unsurprisingly there was a strong bias towards fish dishes, and those restaurants which we tried were generally good value (with mid-range prices and above) and those we would/did visit again included:
- Cenobio Dei Dogi hotel ('La Terrazza di Giulia', Via Niccolo' Cuneo 34)
- La Bossa di Mario (Via della Repubblica 124)
- La Rotonda (Via Giuseppe Garibaldi 101)
- Ostaia da o Sigu (Via Giuseppe Garibaldi 82)
- Ristorante Da Paolo (Via San Fortunato 14)
- Vento Ariel (Calata Porto)
- Xodo (Via Giuseppe Garibaldi 164, for pizza)
Local food/produce - we bought fresh pasta and bolognese sauce on several occasions, from Pasta Fresca Fiorella on the sea-front near the harbour (Via Giuseppe Garibaldi 189), to cook at the apartment. We also enjoyed the Colli di Luni Rosso wine and the Prosecco.
* TRIPS OUT - we used the local bus service to visit Santa Margherita (25 mins) and Portofino, and the regional train service to visit Genoa, Rapallo and Sestri Levante. The smaller towns here more interesting than we expected (because some of the buildings were older). We twice walked to San Rocco (about 25 mins for us, and definitely all uphill), then down to Punta Chiappa to catch the ferry back to Camogli. We also caught the ferry to and from San Fruttuoso (and visited the Abbey). We relied on public transport - we did not hire a car nor did we feel inclined to do so.
* OVERALL - both Camogli and the apartment were very enjoyable. With the evening sunlight reflecting on the seafront buildings, the view of Camogli and the tower/church/bay from 'Terrazza di Giulia' (Cenobio Dei Dogi), was reminiscent of an 'old master' painting !
