Chasing the sun — Taghazout in winter & Spain in summer

Hi everyone!

I’m currently based in Taghazout, a small coastal town in Morocco that’s really become my home over the past few years. Winter here is something special mild temperatures, lots of sunshine, and the sound of waves never too far away. While so many places are bundled up in coats and gray skies, Taghazout stays bright and laid-back all through the colder months.

It’s funny people often think of Morocco as a summer destination, but for me, winter is actually the best time to be here. Mornings start sunny, the beach isn’t too crowded, and the pace of life feels just right.

That said, I’m starting to plan a little summer getaway to Spain this year thinking about somewhere coastal, maybe the north to escape the heat. If anyone has tips for small towns or less touristy spots, I’d love to hear them!

Always enjoy reading about everyone’s adventures here such a great way to keep the travel spirit alive, even when staying put.

Warm wishes from the Atlantic,
Ayoub

I heart heartheart Cadaquès in northern Spain. This Mediterranean coastal
town the way St Tropez ought to be but is not, is no longer.
And I'm always a fan of Barcelona. The nearby beach resort town of Sitges is also very pleasant.
Tarragona has a lovely old town and a jaw-dropping sprawling ancient Roman site.

Thank you so much for the wonderful tips!
Cadaquès sounds exactly like the kind of place I'm dreaming about ilove those smaller, authentic towns with a real soul. And the comparison to how St. Tropez should be makes it even more tempting!

Barcelona is always a favorite, and Sitges sounds like a perfect spot to enjoy the beach with a bit of charm. Tarragona also just made it onto my list i can never resist a place with some ancient history to wander through.

Really appreciate you sharing these ideas you've got me even more excited to start planning!
Wishing you endless sunshine and good waves wherever you are!
