A new Walter Presents on Channel 4 in the UK, Vanished by the Lake, set in Provence!

The Guardian - Vanished by the Lake review - Lots of coincidences in a close-knit community? It must be a French thriller

We have not watched it yet but once we are finished Godless (fabulous western on Netflix set in northern New Mexico) we will watch it.

That sounds great, Pauline. I hope it gets to the US sometime soon.

Speaking of the Western, did you ever watch Longmire? It's on Netflix here. It is based on a series of books set in Wyoming, but was actually filmed in New Mexico. The fictional town of Absaroka, Wyoming, is actually Las Vegas, New Mexico. We just finished watching the last season, and thought it was all terrific. Great characters and wonderful acting.

We were thinking of checking out Godless, since Netflix recommended it if we liked Longmire, so good to hear that you are enjoying it.

The Absaroka mountain range is real though, and there is a little town on the Montana side called Absarokee.

Longmire is on my list to watch! We are watching the last one of Godless tonight. The scenes with horses are really good. The female lead is the woman from Downton who can be very wooden, but she is great in this.

When we were in New Mexico this summer, our son took us on a little Longmire tour. Las Vegas NV has created a facsimile of the entrance to Sheriff Longmire's office right off the town plaza.

Another location that figures strongly in the show is the Red Pony bar, owned by Longmire's friend Henry Standing Bear. Those scenes were filmed in the Minecraft Bar in the town of Madrid, NM.
