Friuli Venezia Giulia

After a week in Venice in May,(was able to take advantage of the weekend's insane airfare deals) we'll be heading a bit northeast to Friuli Venezia Giulia. I am starting to gather information on the area. We'll probably be based in an agriturismo in Corno di Rosazzo, a bit south of Cividale, and will have a car. http://www.perusini.com/en/

I'd love to hear about any resources others have found useful, and most importantly, any personal experiences you'd be able to pass on. Our interests are architecture, art, food and wine, nature, interesting places to hang out. We'll also likely be popping over the border into western Slovenia, if anyone has thoughts about that area.
