Thanks for the add to slow europe... We've been to Italy once before in 2011. Had a great time, but tried to do too much in a 3 week span. Traveled from Florence to Venice into the dolomite mountains to Lake Como To the 5 lands, Lucca and then to the Chianti region of Tuscany in 3 weeks driving.
In June we're planning a trip to Southern Italy beginning on the 5th. Will start our travel in Sorrento to see the Amafi coast, then drive to Matera. May do a side trip to Castelmezzano for ziplining if it fits into the total.
Ultimately, we'd like to spend most of our time in Calabria and end our trip in Sicily. Then we will take the train back To Venice to fly back home on the 18th. So 12 days including jet lag recovery I guess.
So, We need to know how realistic this trip will be given our desire not to be completely wasted as we were in 2011. Any input you have will be greatly appreciated.
