Hidden treasures in/near Paris

Great thread — thanks all. We’ll be spending next May in Paris & I’ve started looking for things we haven’t seen yet & places I didn’t know about. Lots of good ideas in this thread. I also check Atlas Obscura — every so often they come up with a really interesting find.

I wound up spending a couple of hours perusing www.tripsavvy.com Turns out that they have several interesting Paris articles that are relevant to this thread:

Four years ago, we took a neighborhood tour with Paris Greeters, part of a global network where locals give tours to tourists. We volunteered and did this in Brooklyn, NY many years ago (called "Big Apple Greeters") & gave tours of some of our favorite areas that were (then) off the beaten track. Our tour with Paris Greeters was pretty similar and we wandered for several hours thru some areas that we wouldn't have seen otherwise. We'll probably try this again.

Thanks for those links! I'm collecting ideas for a short stay (6 days) in Paris next April.
