How Do I Find a Reliable Consolidator?

A friend recently gave me contact info for the consolidator he uses, but so far I've received no reply to my online requests, and phone calls are never answered. I did a Google search and it seems that many consolidators aren't reliable, with many just reselling FF miles. Does anyone use a reliable consolidator? TIA

It is advised to double-check everything when dealing with a consolidator. They are not reliable all the time. I use Skylux and have a few times and been pleased with the results == we just returned from Lyon, France, and first class RT cost about $3800 - and no complaints on schedule or flights etc. [we are fortunate to be able to travel first or business].

Thanks! In the end I booked directly with American Airlines, choosing the flights I wanted. Now all I have to do is hope they don't change the schedules (but I'm sure they will!)
